Fog is rare in Nelson, New Zealand
On a thick foggy winter's afternoon I was delighted to climb above the murk when out walking my dogs on Monday this week. The cranes were still busy in the port...quite an eerie sight.

Hi Rich - Neat post. However, you posted it to the Landscape discussion forum. You'd be better off re-posting this in the Landscape Gallery for critique.

Nice photo. Love Nelson and fun hiking the Abel Tasman. Some of the highest tide fluctuations in the world if I am not mistaken.

It's a stunning image, and I also envied your reference to "a winter's afternoon." :wavey:

Thank you all very much. Every now and then I receive a real reward for walking my dogs on the hill every day without fail. Rain hail or shine we're up there after work, and on that evening I thought we'd be in fog all the time...so it was a real bonus to climb into the light and see those cranes working. (Pity we don't have a big red suspension bridge!)
