The Park Service has exempted "small independent filmmakers" from the new fee schedule. This step was taken after Montana Senator Max Baccus brought up the subject and explained the difference between what they did and larger scale commercial operations.

Pete, do you have an "official" reference for that? The reason I am asking is that many of us spend a fair amount of time in various national parks and a printed summary would be nice to have in our bags, in addition to the summary for still photography. It would be nice if the all the rangers actually knew the rules, but this might be asking a lot of that one guy out of 100 who invariably seems to be the one coming down the road as we set up.
