Blue Cohosh
The Blue Cohosh are blooming along my roadside here in Tunbridge. This was taken along Hanson Road on the Tunbridge Chelsea line.

Michelle,

I like the composition and the pastel colors, but the harsh light kinda washes out the subtle colors. Do you have a diffuser? If you don't you need to get something called a multidisk from Photodex which is a round disk that can be folded and easily kept in a pack. The disk is a diffuser, which when used correctly can turn the harsh light you encountered here into a very nice glowing light. The diffuser disk has azip on cover that has 4 different reflector so you can reflect light on to a subject as well. It is great to see another macro shooter in the northeast! Maybe we can get together somewhere in the next few weeks to shoot some flowers and you can try a couple of my diffusers. This would have made the light on this picture very soft and glowing!

Jim,
Thanks! I don't have a diffuser. I do have a cheap, cheater kind of a diffuser. I have a cream colored umbrella that works sometimes, but I didn't have it with me on this jaunt. Oh well. I didn't care much for the harsh light either, but I did like the detail I got on this. I do love to do macro shots of the wildflowers. I just bought this lens last fall, so I've been pretty impatient for spring! I'm not sure of my schedule. Email me.
