I have seen very few reports this year. Most recently Parchers Resort said over 10 species were blooming behind camp. I also saw photos from an Audubon Trip: some of the usuals at Saddle bag Lake and High Country: Mt. Pride, Blazing Star, Alpine Columbine, a purple penstemon and along highway 120 east of Mono Lake were Minulus nanos and Mono Lake Lupine were in bloom. I plan to get over the east side in about a week and will post what I see.

You need to hike up into the very high country above timberline. This is the best time in places like Dusy Basin, Evolution Valley, and along the John Muir Trail.

I've seen lots of shooting stars (no fields of them) from the Meysan Creek drainage all the way up to the drainage above Convict Creek. Lots of mixtures of other flowers. Most of the south facing slopes are very very dry so you'll just find them right next to the water sources. Saw a few tiger lillies in Big Pine Creek area.

Hey, Steve! Welcome back--we haven't seen you around these parts in quite a while!
