A Tidy Tip Morning
An image from this past weekend as I conducted a one day photo intensive workshop in Carrizo Plain. The morning started out totally fogged in, the whole plain was in pea soup fog. It gave me sime time to instruct the attendees on exposure under some very uniform light. As soon as the sun broke through we got started. This is one of the first images I made with a rented Schneider 58mm Super Angulon XL. Great lens, giving a great perspective. The FG flowers are about 18 inches infront of the camera. Carrizo is still raging with flowers. But it won't last long if the temperatures we had there on Saturday continue. Go soon before they are all gone.

Impressive display of flowers. Those tidy tips are bigger than any I can recall seeing. Amazing DOF.

I was there Saturday, too. Didn't get there as early as you, and when I got to Simmler Rd, I was nearly alone. Made some similar shots, but less the fog/clouds. Went to Selby Ranch for some mid day shots. All the flowers were at the Simmler/Soda Lake area.

Fantastic! The wide-angle view is really stunning. I love the effect created by the fog in the distance.
