My wife and I took a 4 day weekend to drive up to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore this past weekend. Unfortunately southerly winds and warm temperatures moved, what appeared to be, millions of Stable Flies onto the beaches. Every time we walked out to an observation point we would be covered with flies. One day of this was enough so we headed over to Seney to view wildlife. This was the sunset of the first day.

Phil: In spite of the sun, you got a nice image of Bond Falls. I really like the foreground (my kind of photo) and would be inclined to try a crop without the foliage in the Background. I haven't been up over the bridge in summer since my youth days at Presbytery Point Church Camp on Lake Michigamme near Champion. But local Michigan "lore" has it that June/July in a normal year is pretty unpleasant because of the flies. Apparently, by August, they are basically gone. You got some nice images in spite of the flies
