Hi everyone,
I've been hanging around NPN for quite a while now and recently checked out the MWNP section. Can understand why I haven't been here sooner.
Anyway, I'd love to meet up with some of you this year as well.
Welcome to NPN Mark. As Deb mentioned there are several of us from the Columbus area. What kind of subjects do you shoot? If you are into birds several of us will be at Magee Marsh the next couple of weekends. If you are around stop by and say hi.
Richard Hocking Hills is about 30 min to about 1 hour from Columbus (depending where you live) near Lancaster Ohio.
I like to shoot anything and everything. Most of my subjects are flowers, insects and scenics. I am hopefully going to purchase the Canon 100-400 in the very near future and hope to photograph more birds and wildlife to expand my portfolio. By the way, does anyone know who rents lenses in Central Ohio?
I would like to make a trip to Magee Marsh soon. I've heard some really good things about the area. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it for the all of migrant action.
Hmmm, the name sounds vaguely familar... Welcome to NPN.
Given that you are near the Columbus area, there are two camera clubs which may be of some interest. The Focus Group meets in Upper Arlington the second Friday of each month (www.focuscolumbus.com). This is more general photography, with a couple of people such as myself, specializing in nature photography. There are a few working professionals in this group, plus a number of very advanced amateurs as well. The second club is Lens and Leaves, meeting at Blacklick Metro Park the second Thursday of each month. This group specializes in nature photography only.
I'll probably be getting together some one days meetings in Ohio in the next couple of weeks. With Spring wildflower season upon us and a couple of 10 day trips, I have been pretty busy lately.
My first post here as well. Hocking Hills is a region south-south/east of Columbus roughly 45 minutes away. Lots of beautiful things can be shot there from scenics to wildlife to flowers to 'shrooms. Being from Columbus as well, I hope to see familiar scenes when you post!
Well I might as well jump on the band wagon here are as newbie! Just found the site and I am very interested to join in some local activities. I live in Newark, OH spend a lot of time photographing central OH. I will try to see how I can get involved.
