Orange County area landscape photo opps

Thanks again to everyone's terrific advice on Big Sur shooting locations.

I'm heading to Orange County next week and curious if anyone has any great tips on spots to shoot. I'm half way familiar with the coast from Newport Beach down to San Clamente, but never explored it with photography in mind. I'll only have one evening (sunset), so any advice is appreciated.

Two of my favorite spots are 1) The Wedge in Newport Beach. If the surf is up its a great place to get bodyboarders at sunset you get a really nice light. 2) The Bolsa Chica Wildlife refuge, great place for birding

Corona Del mar has some nice beach areas to shoot.

Little Corona Beach just south of Corona State it's also called Poppy Ave. The Beach trail is at the end of this street that drops down off of PCH. There is an arch in this little bay. There is also a bigger rock further south with a hole through it. Up in Modjeska Canyon is the Tucker Wildlife Sancturary. Lot's of nice birds can be photographed from their porch. Palos Verdes Penisula is not too far from O.C. in L.A. County Royal Palms is a great sunset spot. But this late in the Spring The whale watching spot at Pt. Vincente may be better.

Got in later than expected and didn't arrive until after sunset. However, I had a beautiful evening on the coast - so no complaints!
