I managed a trip to the Eastern Sierra about 10 days ago, just before the recent batch of storms. As usual, I ran into Steve Sieren, this time at Nicely's in Lee Vining. The weather was unremittingly sunny except for one afternoon in Death Valley when there were a few clouds for a couple of hours. I managed to get this shot of Manley Beacon from Golden Canyon.

Mono Lake was cold!! After this morning sunrise shoot, when we got back to the car the thermometer read 10 degrees.

The Sierras had a fresh coat of snow, and the view from the Alabama Hills was stunning, even without clouds.
All very nice images from these wonderful sites, Tony. I will say that 10 temp reading is the price we must pay for these type of results. Good work.

It certainly has been a strange year in California. Winter isn't over quite yet, but we have a lot of catching up to do in a short window if totals are even to approach normal. It has been strange all over the country, very mild.
Nice images and trip report, Tony. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful images, Tony. You photos make me want to drop everything and head over to the east-side again.
