Bored to death by the winter around home I decided to take a trip up to Grand Marais on the Minnesota North Shore. Things were not much better up there. Hardly any snow along the North Shore although there was supposed to be a little more inland. I was also disappointed at the lack of ice. There was some in Duluth Harbor but I was surprised that there wasn't any ice in the harbor at Grand Marais. It was a stretch to find even small patches of ice along the shore of Lake Superior. The Ice on the rivers was also below usual because of the drought.
A bright spot was the sunset and sunrise and Grand Marais.
Definatley a bright spot. love the color. It has been a very different Winter here as well; however there is Spring on the way.

Phil,
Looks like you still were able to come back with a dramatic shot. Nicely done! Maybe March will come in like a lion? Weirdest winter I can ever remember.
Take care,

Looks like a lovely scene Phil. It's certainly not been the winter many people expected.
I was really hoping to get some nice snowy woodland scenes this winter, but no luck yet.

Beautiful sunrise, Phil. We've had one good snowfall all winter..the rest has come only in a few inches at a time, then thaws and disappears within days. We had similar weather a few years ago with only about three weeks of snow.
