New Google Earth
Google Earth just released version 6.2.

Remember how the earth was all different colors depending on the tiled image you were on. They are all gone, it is now one big seamless high quality, richly colored skin.

Sorry, folks, but the mismatched color tiles still remain. Check out Horseshoe Bend at Page, Az. to see for yourself.

I downloaded and installed it, and I'm impressed. Some of the areas that interest me are still limited by the resolution of older aerials, but the color adjustments make viewing more "lifelike" if that's the term. In the process of color conversions, someone with their hand on the wheel was really in love with green though. Wow. Call it emerald.

One side note that struck me- Google is certainly pushing Chrome. You get a download right along with the new Google Earth.
