Hi all! :wavey: I'm James Egbert from the Rocky Mountain Nature Photographers group and I may be heading out to the MW area, more accurately, Louisville KY.

It will be quite the change of scenery from Colorado, but I am actually looking forward to it. Anyone from the Louisville area can help a fellow Photographer out and give an idea what to see and where? :toast:

Hey James, check out my site - I am about 3 hours west of Louisville. Then to your east you will have lots of options in the Appalachians, look up "Red River Gorge!"

I second the RRG recommendation (it's a few hours SE of Louisville). There are some spots in southern Indiana that are worth a look. Clifty Falls State Park, in Madison, IN, is only a half an hour or so from Louisville. You're also less than an hour south of Brown County State Park, in south-central Indiana. And if you want to consider the gold standard, you're 5-6 hours from Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

There are too many of photo ops in that area to mention James...you won't run out of ideas! Some of the suggestions already made are excellent choices! Let us know if/when you make the move. :wavey:

Well it's official, :wavey:I am moving to Louisville KY in a little less than 2 weeks. I will be there on the 5th of Feburary, working at WHAS-TV in Louisville. Hope to meet up with a local group that would be up for small group outings! :toast:

I am in Cincinnati area, not exactly in KY, but only 2 hours away

I really like the rolling hills and horse farms in Lexington area.
