My wife and I are beginning to plan a driving vacation for photography and have been considering the Badlands SD in August. Is this a good time? Any input as to places to be sure to hit while there. Any other info most appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Ed,

You may want to post this in either the RMNP or the CSNP. This forum only goes as far west as Minnesota. But feel free to leave this post up in case one of our members can help you out! Some of us might even be able to point you to places within the Midwest states where you might want to stop.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Toni

I've been to the badlands many times in August. It can be hot and you probably don't want to go into the area around the time of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Other that that it's a great time to go to SD. If you are going on to the Black Hills it's also a good time to watch the Buffalo.
