Sorry, to start over but there is no response place, or at least I could not find it for the hunting topic.

Simple why to aid in wildlife conservation and preservation is to go ahead and buy a duck stamp and or hunting license even if you do not hunt. Or a fishing license. Does your state have a conservations stamp program? If not try to start one, if you can make sure any funds earned will go to conservation.

Used to hunt, but not anymore, got tired of being shot at by fools.

Buying a state or federal duck stamp is one of the easiest and best things anyone can do to promote wildlife. Ducks stamps started out in the 1930's as a way to create a pool of money to purchase wildlife habitat; mostly wetlands. In the early years, almost all of the a National Wildldife Refuges were purchased with these funds. The money is earmarked for that and can't be used for other things. Sure, hunters get to use it for hunting but the land is still kept as habitat and lots of others species use these areas. Hunters and fishermen further taxed themselves by supporting federal legislation creating the Pittman-Robinson and Dingle-Johnson acts which taxes firearms, ammunition, and fishing tackle. This money goes back to the states for their research and management programs which ultimately benefit many species. Sure we may not all be hunters or fishermen but this is a common benefit. Like you Johh, I used to hunt and fish. I no longer do, but I still appreciate what these various programs do in protecting wildlife habitat.
