I have been attempting to link a photo in the Landscape Gallery.
I keep getting an error message...
I have reduced the size (not on this one) and it is an sRGB
but the error message insists it is not the correct type of jpeg file..

Tom,
You can only post the image here in a discussion forum as an attached image using the "browse" box at the bottom of the reply box. Alternatively you could post it as a link following the "Text style menu" link below.
But if you're in a gallery, you have the option of uploading the the NPN server; again that's the "browse" dialogue box when you "Post a Photo," OR, there is a box labeled "Enter URL address..." where you can insert the image link from an outside server; Smugmug for example. But as Basil pointed out you need to point directly to the image file, otherwise it won't work. Right-click on your Smugmug page and select "image properties"(IE) or "View image info" (Firefox) and then cut-n-paste the direct link to the image.
You didn't say what the actually error is that you're getting. If you're just trying to provide an image link as a response, then follow the "Text Style menu" link below. If you are posting a new image to be critiqued using "Post a Photo," then follow my examples about.
Hope this helps,
Lon

Tom,
What happened to your photo? I had posted my comments and then saw you posted an image in Landscape, now it's gone. I suspect you wanted a larger version maybe? Please let me know if you need additional assistance. The image looks fabulous btw...

Lon....
That worked....
Thanks a lot...
I went into properties and cop/pasted it and it posted just fine...
Thank you for the help...
I did take the small one down and posted a little bigger one.. (I didn't want to get greedy)
sorry to delete your post...
Thanks again for the tutorial... I have never had to do that to copy & paste on any other board...
live and learn...
Thanks for the complement... I'll take all I can get

Seems like your problem is solved, but anyway: If you view your smugmug image, you can right click on it and select something like "view image", which will then show just the image, without the webpage around it, and that URL should end with JPG. You can then copy that URL, and you should be fine.
