I have noted that there is no activity on the Gallery but people do continue to post photos on the forum from time to time. Wondering what the protocol is and if nobody is posting in the galleries, what the purpose is? It this an experiment that didn't work?

I think you answered your own question. In my opinion there just isn't enough participation in the Midwest Forum to justify looking two places for photos. I wish this wasn't the case but wishing doesn't fix the problem.

Thanks for bringing this subject up, Andy!

I think Jim E. thought that everyone might benefit from having a forum and a gallery in the regional forums and it was a good idea. We had fairly decent participation for a little while, but it appears that most members prefer to do the posting in the forum itself. I'm not sure what the next step should be..take the gallery down or encourage more posting in the gallery?

Maybe Jim will weigh in. I spend some time over at the NENP too. Seems like about the same there

RMNP protested having a gallery and ultimately chose not to have one. It's just a pain to look 2 places for images. IMO, the forums should encourage posting of images and discussions on those images within the forum. No sense having images in 2 places.
