Watkins Glen This Autumn?

I'm thinking about a trip to Watkins Glen and would like some insight from someone familiar with the area.

Were rainfall conditions this year such that a colorful autumn seems likely?

Approximately when is the peak period of leaf color likely to occur?

Any information will be appreciated.

Hi Howard,
I was just there yesterday, spectacular gorge! I would imagine that the colors will be about on par with any other fall although there are no promises! I think peak fall colors will be the first two weeks of October. I hope this helps!

Howard, in 2008 I was at Watkins Glen on October 21st. Although still very pretty, the foliage was maybe just a little past prime. The photographic possibilities there are endless. Give yourself plenty of time - it is "gorge"ous!
