"Serious" photography has taken a break for our pocket cameras in the last few days. When it's spring in Alaska and time to fill the freezers, we always become a bit distracted.
That's my wife yesterday and her biggest king salmon ever, taken a couple of miles from our house. One visual detail is worth pointing out- She's 5'8" and that great fish's tail is still dragging the ground. Another notable statistic, it weighed 60.3 pounds!
The weather promises to be perfect for photography for the next few days, but something tells me we'll continue to be distracted.
That king salmon turned out to be the largest caught on Kodiak this year, and with it she won a juicy first place in the derby that just ended.
I had naturally assumed the winnings would go for new camera gear (who wouldn't in this household?), but she told me to renew my passport. Travel photography, anyone?
