Lanterman's Mill, Youngstown
HI everyone in the great midwest.... I've been lurking a lot and I have to say your images are really wondeful....

----Some of you my recognize this image... it's Lanterman's Mill in Youngstown Ohio. I made this on Sept 10th 2006 and I remember I was there with a group. Anyhow, I reprocessed it tonight using up to date software, --what a difference! We had really nice light this morning. I was using my old Nikon D200 and my 20mm F2.8 ( nice and sharp!...) lens.- I remember folks looking at this DSLR with a very short fixed focus lens on it...

shooting details below.
I always think of my old friend Tom Schwerin when I look at this image. I hope he's ok and I am reminded to give him a call. Who knows. we just might get up here on my workshop in Ohio this coming October!

That's a lovely shot Jack. The rough texture of the mill contrasts nicely with the silkiness of the falls, and I like the green ivy encroaching on the structure.

Jack, as a lifelong Youngstown native, I have stood on the Canfield Road bridge and shot this view many, many times. Most recently, last week. Coincidently, I just posted my favorite fall and winter shots from here in this week's "Local Icons" Weekly Challange. Yours is a very nice summer view. Nice rich greens and browns, although I think I would lighten it a bit (particularly the mill and covered bridge in the back). Anyway, thanks for posting this. It's always nice to see my hometown getting some attention and looking good. Hope you make it back this fall. :wavey:
