I was at Nayanquing Point the last day of April, which is where the earlier Eastern Kingbird picture was taken. This pair of Sandhill Cranes passed overhead. They are nesting somewhere there, but well off the dikes and trails.
Unfortunately, I was set up for some shots of some tree swallows that were perched in the shrubs and didn't have time to adjust settings, but didn't want to miss getting some shots of the cranes as they flew over, hence the somewhat strange settings.
Beautiful shot Mike! I love their wing positions and you got one of them 'talking'. Too cool. It's always good to be prepared for the unexpected when out shooting. You handled this nicely!
Great catch, Mike. I like to visit the Bosque del Apache to photograph the cranes during their annual winter visit. They are fun to observe and photograph.
