Eastern Painted Turtles

These turtles were basking in the sun. The sun gives them calcium which makes their sheels hard. In a couple of weeks you should see the turtles crossing the road to lay eggs.

Beautiful image. The only nit is the shine on the shells. The reflections of the three make this really nice. I always try to help them get across the road when I see them.
