My wife and I are kind of 'dart at the map' kind of people. She mentioned that we've never been camping in Wisconsin before, so after looking at the WDNR website we've kind of decided on a week long camping trip to the Copper Falls State Park (or at least in that area) the first week in June. We've never been in that area before. Anyone have any suggestions about things to see/photo ops. in the area?
The area is wonderful. Three falls are close to Copper Falls State Park. Copper Falls and Brownstone Falls I think are within the park. Morgan Falls is not far from there either.
Apostle Islands aren't far away but I've never been there. Lake of the Clouds in Porcupine Mountains State Park in Upper Michigan isn't to far away either. Beautiful area.
Upper Michigan's Keewenaw penninsula has some fantastic lighthouses and scenic views from the bluffs.

Hi Dave, just a few miles down the road from Copper Falls is Potatoe River Falls, there is a public access and parking area but it's not really a park, the rangers at Copper falls should be able to give you directions. Also within about 30 miles or so is Amnicon State Park with some nice falls and also Pattison State park with Big and Little Manitou Falls. Big Manitou at 165 ft is the tallest falls in Wisconsin. I hope you enjoy the area it's great.

The more I read about it, the more I'm looking forward to going up there. It sounds like a very beautiful area.
I'm new to this site, etc. I'm a Wisconsinite and wish to second many of the suggestions provided. There are several waterfalls in the area of northern Wisconsin. My favorite is Morgan Falls:
Copper Falls has eroded significantly over the past score of years, and is my least favorite of the area. Brownstone Falls is nicer, IMHO. And, Potato Falls is about 15 miles east, and easily accessible:

After seeing Amnicon Falls last summer, I'd like to get back there, too. I wasn't able to get any good photos because we were there around noon.
