Want to stay somewhere in late August that is scenic in or outside Seward. I haven't ever been to Seward (nor to Alaska) and am looking for a lodge, b and b, or hotel suggestion. We need to have somewhere with a bed, a private bathroom, electricity, and running water--- perhaps, a hotel or lodge would be ideal. We are into landscape photography more than anything else; though bears and birds are nice, too.

Here are a couple of suggestions - there are lots of great places to stay here. This page hasn't been updated in a bit, the Holiday Inn Express is open, and has great views, but it is expensive.
Another option used by a lot of visitors is to rent a motorhome. In Seward you can camp right along the ocean.
