My normal route home from work is on a fairly rural road. Yesterday as I rounded a curve in the road, there, straight ahead of me was a turkey vulture squatting on a piece of road kill about the size of a racoon. He had his head up, keeping an eye on things around him. I thought, OK, as I get closer, he will fly off, and I will just straddle the road kill.
Well, as I got closer, he didn't move. I got closer, and he still didn't move. I got closer yet, and he still didn't move. Finally, I had to swerve into the opposite lane to avoid running over him. The car behind me did the same and the car behind him also did the same thing. This bird was not going to give up his find, and it looked like he was going to play "chicken" with anyone trying to seperate him from his meal.

I guess you could call this a chain reaction bird mishap.
