I'll be in Orlando toward the end of March for business. I'm considering bringing my camera gear. Can anyone recommend a good location for bird photography and comments on my timing for nesting or migratory species?

Thanks in advance

Closest and one of the best is due east on the Atlantic, Merritt Island NWR. This place is terrific. This is way closer to Orlando than St. Augustine.

A little farther away but still much closer than St. Augustine, northwest of Orlando you'll find the Lake Eustis/Tavares area. Here there is a great place called "Emeralda Wildlife Drive". One way drive with impoundments and you can go around as many times as you wish or find a pull off and walk. No need to walk though. It's a great place. Just "google" it for info. Also in that same area is Sunnyhills Restoration Area. Also, a boat ride on the Dora Canal often is rewarding. Several lakes all in that area which are wonderful for all sorts of birds. Lots of places along the shorelines too to simply pull off and set up shop.

Have fun!!

Might try Ding Darling further south at Captiva/Sanibel Islands.
