..until the 0615 flight to San Francisco for the holiday.

:jump:

Now - hoping for good weather into and out of Chicago so we have no flight delays.

Yesterday my wife and I invested 20 hours in airports and planes to reach the East Coast for the holidays. Egad. No weather delays, but gusty winds at Reagan National caused a missed approach and lots of sweaty palms. And it's cold! Holy cow. DC is colder and windier than Kodiak.

Yeah - it is indeed cool this morning. The thermometer was around 15 F. Luckily the winds have subsided, and warmer temps are expected in a few days.

David, family in San Fran?

For the holiday, we have our three grown children, my inlaws and my sister joining us in our four bedroom house. Then our son's gal is coming up Christmas night for a few days. So with nine adults in a four bedroom house, it looks like the couch for me. :frown:

How do you feel about backyard camping, Jim?

The wife's family is in San Francisco (Richmond district). We have spent every Christmas there since their only grandchild was born.

So Jim - you can fly out and stay in one of the spare bedrooms. :wavey:

I just finished a marathon series of jet rides: Ushuaia, Argentina - Buenos Aires, Argentina; Buenos Aires - Lima, Peru; Lima - Los Angeles, CA; Los Angeles to Seattle, WA; Seattle to Fairbanks. My heart (and sore butt) go out to anyone who is traveling now.

Long day yesterday. Up @ 4:00am, at the airport by 4:45am, flight to Chicago @ 6:15am.

While at Chicago our next flight was delayed a bit due to deicing each plane. The headwind while in-route to San Francisco was reported to be 315+ knots. The trip seemed to take forever in-part because of the rather annoying mom behind us.

It's good to be with the in-laws (they love their only grandchild). Now hanging around San Francisco enjoying temperatures that are not 20 degrees. :wavey: :wavey:
