Do metallic prints need to be laminated?

I'm seriously considering printing some of my fine art landscape images on metallic paper for an upcoming exhibit - it just seems to add the impact I'm looking for.

My plan is to have the prints applied to a high quality foam core board, so I didn't plan on covering the print with glass. I would also prefer not to have a laminate coating applied over the print as it seem to dull down the colors too much. However, am I asking for trouble with perhaps damaging the print if it's not laminated?

Has anyone considered doing a similar thing and can share their lessons learned?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Are you going to mat the prints? Whatever you decide to do, I'd at least put the prints in protective plastic covers otherwise they are going to scratch. I've never heard of spraying a fine art print with any kind of laminate.
