Moderators,

Time for a sticky winter thread! The Newfound Gap Road was closed this morning because of snow and ice unless you had 4-wheel drive or chains so the local news reports.

So the winter photography season is upon us.

Also, the Wear Cove road was closed because of downed trees.

Cheers, Steve

There is snow in the forecast for the Tennessee River valley for this weekend (12/2-12/3); snow showers Saturday night and Sunday.

Folks,

Looks like the cold weather is creating a good opportunity for ice forms. I have a spot in Tremont scoped out that I missed last year, and by Wednesday (12/8) afternoon there should be decent ice around any small source of water, and maybe small streams and river edges. That's assuming you can get to Tremont.

BTW, up to an inch of snow is forecast for Sunday (12/12) in the valley, with blowing snow.

Cheers, Steve
