I will try to warn you all when my next New England fall trip is planned. I appear to be a JINX for you. In the past 10 years, I have taken 3 week long fall foliage trips: 2005, 2006 and 2010. Everyone appears to agree that the 2005 year was perhaps the worst ever. 2006 and 2010 were similar, with early leaf drop, windy weather, etc. Nonetheless, with some hard running and lots of good "intel" from in-state sources, I managed to capture a couple of reasonably good images. For anyone interested, the New Additions section of my website has my intitial selects from my trip to Vermont during the first week of October, 2010.

Hi Andy,
Very nice image here and a lot more on you web site. Well done.
FYI You may want to revisit the images on your web site from Acadia where you refer to cranberries. Blueberries are very common in that area and their leaves turn red during the fall. Cranberries are grown in bogs along the coast and harvested out of water. I would be extremely surprised if the plants in your images were cranberries.

LOL, Larry! I saw that the other day and made a mental note to fix it. I had cranberries on my mind for some reason. I really did know they were blueberries. Duh! It would be amazing that cranberries could grow on a hill instead of in a bog :-)
