Red Tail Hawk with Light Blue Green Eyes

I noticed this hawk had very light blue green eyes. I was looking through my small spotting scope ( Eagle Optics Denali).

I snapped a photo through the scope with my LX1. Not a great photo but does show the light eye color. Is this unusual?

Juveniles have the light eyes adults have dark eyes. Nice shot.
