Hey everyone,
Once again, haven't been here in a while, been running all over the country.
I did make it to Lost Valley yesterday (3-18) on a field trip with a group of students from my outdoor photography class at the local college. I was very much under the weather and in a whole day of shooting at Smith Creek and Lost Valley, only got my camera out of the bag twice. The rest of the time was for answering questions, etc.
I did like the end result of this shot. Some of the students did not have macro lenses, so I was showing them how to make due. As a bit of a stretched example, I shot this with a Canon 100-400 IS lens at 260mm with a couple of extension tubes stacked together. This was from about 2 feet, tripod, cable release, etc. 0.4 sec @ f/7.1
Have a good one, and hope to spend a little more time here in the near future....

Glenn - nice to see you posting again. Your Wake Robin is exquisite - extremely good detail in the petals and great light in the center section. I use the 100-400 with extension tubes all the time - it's a great lens for this kind of thing. Thanks for posting!

Hey Glenn, glad to hear you were able to get out on saturday and the rain didn't interfere with your workshop. Beautiful Wake Robin, love the choice of f-stop and dof that resulted. Like Tim mentioned, extremely good detail in the petals and stamen. This image looks great cropped to square too! Thanks for sharing, hope you're feeling better!
Glenn that is a great looking flower. I hope to find some of them myself. I just signed up for Tim's workshop this coming Saturday. I hope you are going to be there to answer all my silly questions too.
