Grandfather Mountain has a photo clinic with good speakers, a great dinner Saturday night, and free camping on the mountain. It's August 21-22. It's only $25 to register & registration opened this morning (July 15). This event is more geared to press photographers, but is also very instructive for us NPN'ers. Speakers for the 2010 Camera Clinic are Bill Fortney, William Bake, Doug Brewer and Carl Galie.
You might want to register ASAP as the numbers are limited. They don't fill up as quickly as the June event.
I've been to both their June event (typically the weekend after Memorial Day), and this August event in the past. They are both great to attend. Most of the speakers are more general regarding photography and processing & not really focused on the press side of things. Plus, how can you beat admission to the mountain & great scenics to shoot, free camping, and a meal for $25?
