We will be traveling to Morgantown WV to visit family and will stop in the Gatlinburg area for three days, 7/6 thru 7/9. Any tips on what not to miss. What to see and what to shoot. This is not our last trip to the area as My son and his family recently moved to Morgantown and we will frequently make the trip there from Louisiana.

I would definitely see Cades Cove and Greenbrier. My son was at both last week and reports they were both crowded, so have some patience with the tourists to get a shot without them in it. Have a great trip.....

Roaring Fork Motor Trail (if the construction is over and it's open). Same warning about crowds. Also try to road up to Tremont. It's near the Townsend entrance.

If you have time, try sunset from the Clingman's Dome parking lot.
