I was in Shenandoah National Park last weekend shooting fawns. The deer walk around you there and are unafraid. This young buck walked up to a doe and reared up fairly close to me. She was unimpressed and reared up at him. It was over very quickly and he moved on.
I like the eye contact and the tucked tail of the doe.
Looks like you were at the right place at the right time. Great shot! I like to color of the morning (evening?) light and the sharpness of the two. You're right, the eyes are great.

Great photo. Great depth of field on the shot, the deer are sharp and the background blurred as to not distract from the subjects. I was in Shenandoah two weeks ago and have a great time, just too much sun!

Hey Andy
I thought I would jump over here and see if there was any post from Big Meadows and saw your name. Gee I remember you taking this shot, I think. Was it with the doe confronting the buck with the fawn near by?
