The blooms were very sparse Saturday evening so I stayed on this layered composition until the sun dipped down.

Leann--were the blossoms sparse this year or was it because most of the plants are already past peak? Seems to me that the peak was around the end of the 1st week of June this year. My mom is showing up on the 21st and wants to see rhodos but I'm afraid she's a week or 2 too late. Maybe the mtn laurel will hang on longer. Thanks--Larry
Larry- The blooms peak later at higher elevations so your mom may be in luck. Our house is at 3000 feet and the peak is usually in the 3rd or 4th week of June. Up on the parkway it is later. But every year is different so this may not be a great year overall. I've been in Florida and Colorado this year so I'm going to miss it altogether.

Beautiful shot! Really like how the sun seems to be piercing the clouds in such a sharp way.

Nice, Leann! Looks to me like you have a bit of a color cast that's muddying the colors somewhat. I'd try pulling back on the red channel a little bit and maybe adding a bit of blue.
I think the rhodies were mainly a bust all over this year.
