Sorry for the lapse in highlights last week, it's been busy for all of us ESS moderators. Anyways, last week we were treated to a wonderful variety of fantastic imagery from just about every season.

Adrian Klein keeps us in the spring mood by digging up an image from earlier this year with a spectacular display of little flowers from Oregon: "Early Spring". The depth gained by seeing the flowers up close at the bottom of the frame all the way out into the horizon is what really makes this photo sing.

Meanwhile Wayne Simpson decided to share a truly incredible "Ice Abstract" from earlier in the year. The sensual forms mixed in with the rich details make this one you really must stare at for some time.

While not yet a member, Alexandre Deschaumes debuted with a truly spectacular image from iceland. In case you missed it, or were frustrated by the posting issues, you should be sure to check out the image on his website here: "Glacial World". Of course, one must be a member to be in the running for the weekly pick, and thus the highlights as well - we hope Alexandre will sign up for that membership soon!

One of the most fascinating and bizarre images this week received little attention, but is most certainly worth a look... especially if you like mind games. Stuart Williams takes optical illusions to a new level with his "Floating in the Sunlight"

I'm sure you have all seen this waterfall by now what with the three posts from there in the last two weeks, but Zack Schnepf's rendition with the soft filtered light stands out as a true "Paradise Falls".

And finally, we have Joel Hazelton's "Backlit Hoodoos" for the weekly pick. The warm pastel colors, and interest front to back with a wide variety of intriguing textures makes this one a joy to view. Also, don't miss his earlier post from the same area as well: "Coal Mine Canyon".

Great work again as usual, keep it up!
