Again, what an incredible week in the ES&S Gallery!
The week was off to a great start with Cory O 'Neill's "Oh Narnia", an incredible winter mountain scene. The compositional balance, depth, and magical light all came together for this one.
Speaking of light, sometimes color and light really can hold an entire image together. Dean Sauskojus experienced one of those moments with his image "Hayden Valley Surprise".
To round off the week's incredible light shows we had Alessandro Carboni's "Euphorbia", a beautiful combination of plant patterns, ocean, and inviting light. The depth provided by the distant mountains, in addition to the incredible foreground, set this one apart from the typical oceanscape.
Moving to the smaller things in life we have Jay Nielsen's "Oriental Fan", a lovely combination of rough and smooth textures rendered skillfully as a silky high key black and white.
If anyone missed Vance Geese's original Veratrum, you'd better check out his 'version II'. It just doesn't get better when it comes to fresh greens!
That brings us to the weekly pick, which goes to Shane McDermott's "Heaven and Earth". Not only are these falls a special phenomenon in their own right, but the vision to combine them with a partly cloudy twlight starry sky was brilliant. The unique color palette of subdued browns and blues further adds to the unique and intriguing nature of the image. Don't miss out on the large version!
These photos are really excellent. It is a great pleasure to view these images.

Man, you guys have a tough job, and not an enviable one. I would hate to have the pressure of picking just one image out of all the beautiful work that gets submitted weekly; yet, y'all keep doing a wonderful job - many thanks for your dedication and effort.
I agree with Bill, a real tough job picking these image each week with all the great work out there. I am humbled by being mentioned above. Thank you. You guys do a great job. It's an honor to be a part of a community like this.
