I am making a trip to central Florida in a couple of weeks and am stopping in Lochloosa Lake area to photograph birds, macro...I haven't been able to find real specific areas to go to for birds. I understand it is part of the Florida birding trail, but if anyone out there has experience with this area, where would be the best area to see??? Cross Creek? Fish Pond area? Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail?? I know these are different habitats, but any insight???

Thanks for your comments,

Jamie,
I have limited experience in that area but for two trips to a friends cabin. We went out on the lake in his boat and it was really, really good for bald eagles! Lots of other waders too along the lake shoreline but the eagles were the highlight because it's so easy to get those other birds in so many places here in Florida. So I guess if you can find some way to get out on a boat, I'd recommend it. Sorry I can't be more help. If you hear of or find any good spots, please do share them with us.
