ID Please
When I shot this I thought I was looking at a Red Tailed Hawk, but it obviously does not have a red tail. Any ideas what I have here? Thanks for your help.

When asking for ID's it help if you tell us where the bird was photographed, but just looking at this makes me think it is a Red-shouldered Hawk.

Sorry Mia. This was taken along the Ohio river just west of Louisville.

I agree with Mia. You've got a red-shouldered hawk.

Red-tailed Hawks don't always have red tails, but Red-shouldered Hawks always have red shoulders.
