This was taken in Mesquite Nevada a few days ago. I think it might be a Great-tailed Grackle, is that correct?

Thanks

May

It does indeed look like a male Great-tailed Grackle. Ron Dudley and I saw some males and a female here yesterday for the first time this spring.

Indeed, a Great-tailed Grackle.

Lots of them in this gallery on my web site.

I live a short distance from Mesquite and we all call them blackbirds, but then I really don't know birds.
