I am currently working on a new web site and trying to decide on a copyright and image size. Could you have a look at this and comment, I know the photo is nothing special but does the quality look ok (approx 50KB) and is the copyright ok.
I would drop the image size to a max of 600 pixels (inc any boarder) on the longest side.
The copyright is clear however I often feel that it is better in slightly bold type face - its gets a point across.
Some people place the copyright over the image, I have to admit that previously I was aginst this but having seen/heard of a number of copyright croped 600 pixel images being used at half page size in mags, I am now starting to think that it is maybe a good idea.
I was going to sugegst originally not to bother with a copyright notice because surely no-one would print a 600 pixel length image but having read Tom & Johns comments I am not going to suggest that - in fact I am going to review my own website to consider whether to include copyright on the images.
I currently keep my images about 450-500 pixels on the longest edge but I really am not keen on the idea of having them stolen.

I find it incredible that some of my karting shots (640 with faded © through them) have reached the pages of magazines that pay me for assignments.........now I make the images 450px and put in a heavier copyright notice. Folks that are serious about buying from you don't generally do so just because you're showing a big shot on a web page. If you can cut the size to around 35-40K it makes printing a touch more tricky too.
