ID please for this bird which was photographed in early February in the Guadaloupe valley in northern Baja California, Mexico. I think that it is some sort of sparrow but can't identify it in Sibley's guide.

Sage Sparrow is my best guess - hard to be sure from this angle, and I don't know how far into Baja it ranges.

Sure looks like a Sage Sparrow to me but, as Richard says, the angle is awkward. Do you have a shot of the bird that shows the chest?

Thanks for your replies Richard and Jim. I do not have any other images of this bird. I had picked out Sage Sparrow as the nearest I could find in Sibley and the book has it being found half way down Baja. Lark Sparrows and White-crowned Sparrows were also in the same area as well as what looked like Old World House sparrows. Thanks again.
