This was forwarded to me by fellow NPNer Michael Lotito. It was published in the New York Conservationist, a publication put out by the NYS DEC, in December of 2009. His equipment was a D3, 600 f/4 + 1.4TC

Unbelievable stuff, far better than the Cooper's v. Harrier encounter I witnessed, and way better photos too!
