A few months ago, Fred Thompson posted some interesting shots of leucistic species. I thought I'd add this leucistic Rufous-collared Sparrow, usually a boldly patterned common sparrow in Central and South America. This bird, in Volcan village, in the western Panama highlands, was extremely pale, but not an albino.
The bird was a long ways away; this is a 80% crop, and is posted as documentation only.
