Folks,

One of the blogs reports a motorist killed on the Newfound Gap Road from a falling (fallen?) tree yesterday. The winds are reported continuing today, but there are gusts up to 60 mph even though there's not much wind at times.

I'm assuming this warning will apply to most of the high country.

Ya'll be careful.

Cheers, Steve

Last fall, on the way down from the dome where it was storming with rain and high winds, a tree fall across the road and a car hit it causing injury to the people in the car. Looked like it fell in front of them just as they got there and they did not have time to stop. Took a big chunk out of the log and did a lot of damage to the front of their car. Just something else we have to look out for as we travel around the parks.
