Unfortunately, my friends at Emerald Air Service just closed their business down. They would have been my first recommendation. Equally as excellent would be Beluga Air, especially if Derek Stonorov is guiding with them. He was Chris Day's mentor (at Emerald Air) and has guided myself, and photo greats such as Art Wolfe.
I can't find their website, but here is Derek's
http://alaskabearquest.com/
He does single and multi-day trips.
If you have a larger budget, you could go on a multi-day "bear boat" trip, on the R/V Waters with John Rogers or stay at the Silver Salmon Creek Lodge with David Coray -

Another great option is my friend, Carl Johnson -

or Ron Niebrugge -

I also plan to start offering bear tours in 2011, but I'm still working out the details. Any of the options above are excellent resources.

Thanks for the mention Dave!

Jeff, when you are here in Seward, make sure you take one of the full day tours into Kenai Fjords N.P. The shorter trips are cheaper, but not nearly as good and your are not nearly as likely to see whales. I could go on, but pointing you to hear might offer some help: http://www.wildnatureimages.com/FAQ%201.htm This might be helpful for boat tours: http://www.my-photo-blog.com/kenai-fjords-national-park-boat-tours Have a great trip!

Hey Dave,

uhhmm, "Carl Johnson"? :)

Thanks for the plug, though.

Jeff, I won't be leading a bear tour in the dates you mention - I'd suggest Ron Niebrugge above.

Cheers
