I will be in the North Conway NH area on wednesday 12/30 since I will be taking my son to an EMS Mountaineering course. Thought I would spend the day with my my camera while waiting for his course to complete. Haven't visited here in years so thought I would ask..... Any thoughts on must see vistas or areas of interest? I usually do mostly seascapes so I figure this maybe an opportunity to take some mountain scenes. Thanks for any advice in advance. Eva
Not knowing if you're a winter hiker or not, I suggest driving the loop. After dropping him off, continue north on Rt. 16 up through Pinkham Notch into Gorham, then taking Rt. 2 west through to Lancaster. You'll see the Presidentials in all their glory. Then south on Rt. 3 until Twin Mountain and then take Rt. 302 back down and east to Rt. 16. That would easily take care of the 2-3 hours that he would be in class. And hoping it'll be a sunny day to see all,.

Thanks very much Chris. While I do hike, I will probably just do a driving tour this time since I will be by myself during the day. I'll map out you suggested route.
