Tongue Time
Since I'm stuck in my house under 2 feet of snow and at the mercy of my friend who is supposed to plow me out, I thought I'd post a fun thread. Not too often does a bird show off its tongue, but when it does it's pretty cool. I'd like to see your best tongue shots!

Stuck too, cloudy and cold with an early morning start to work. While shooting Osprey last year I found this Green Heron perched and captured him with his tongue out.

Soggy, unhappy bird with tongue. I saw that snow on TV. Looks terrible.

A bald eagle. Think I would rather wait for someone rather than do the shoveling! Thank Heaven we have a snow blower. Only got about 12" on this side of the Sound.

Little blue heron yawning at the end of a long day.

Ron,

That image is actually what got me thinking about this thread as I was going through a powerpoint I'd made for work (again, thanks for your contributions) at this image appears at the end of it - I kept looking at it and thinking, now THAT is cool

This mallard didn't seem all that friendly.......all I did was take his picture. Maybe he was just saying "ah".
P.S.: Darn it. Pretty hard to see his tongue in this little image....but it's there!
