If anyone uses PPVT be very careful when you are making a transaction don't forget to select the Card Type - for some reason I was making a transaction over the weekend and forgot to do so, but the system went forward and processed the transaction, and I printed a receipt for the buyer. Thing is, the transaction should have never went through, and halted me about the Card Type, so I got the royal screw and buyer has free print. Called Paypal, no recourse on their part, and the buyer won't be coming back to pay me. So be careful if you use this service... they have been having known issues with it.

Sorry to hear you got the short end of the stick and that your client got a really good deal for Christmas Christopher, but I have also heard that PayPal is not the most customer friendly entity to work with. A good service to have, but not the most accomodating with issues.
For what it's worth, the first 4 digits of the card are unique to its issuer (e.g. if it starts with 4, it's always a Visa) so really PayPal shouldn't even ask - they can figure it out on their own. It's just a validation measure to make sure you entered the information correctly. Some vendors don't even ask you for the type. If PayPal really wanted, they can still process these transactions without you having to tell them the card types.

My experience with PayPal in any form has been less than terriffic. No response to e-mail requests. No help in resolving issues with "magically" appearing multiple accounts. No response in how the heck to get completely off the PayPal books. Totally frustrating.

What a load of doo-doo. In the process now of getting them to cough up at least some of the payment. Once this is done, no more. Paypal doesnt get a second chance with me and they shouldn't with anyone.
