A little Vermont Color
It was a damp and foggy weekend, but the colors are really popping here in Vermont. I hit Groton State Forest at sunrise Saturday, and then worked my way up to the Northeast Kingdom. I hit Stowe on Morning, but the color was better on Saturday in the Northeast Kingdom. Hope to hit the Peachum and Woodstock areas this comming weekend.

This is a shot into the woods off the "King George Highway" in Sutton, VT. Don't let the name fool you, as it's just another Vermont dirt road!

Nikon D700, 24-70 lens at 70mm, 1/50s @ F8, ISO 800, Tripod, Polarizer. Full Frame, and added a bit of an S-Curve in Photoshop to boost the contrast.

Rich, you're alive! I was just thinking of you the other day while I was out shooting in Groton with Mitch Moraski. Glad to see you are getting out and posting some images. This is wonderful. I love the color and the lichen covered trunks are really providing some nice contrast. I'm not wild about the somewhat blurry tips of saplings that appear in the lower right and left corners. Too bad you couldn't get up higher and shoot over them.

Thanks for sharing the image of Vt, Brings back many memories. I spent many a day on the dirt roads of the "Kingdom", especially around Barton and Craftsbury. The good thing about dirt raods, its usually only you and the locals, no tour busses and land yatches, and the scenery is second to none.
